Our Club’s Winter Blog in February spoke of “turning the page and starting a new chapter” in 2026 and went on to say “The Best was Yet to Come”.    

The Best did come with displays of 43,000+ Pink Cherry Trees, a magical array of delicate blossoms in hues of pink, rose, magenta and white in the early spring creating beautiful canopies of flowers.  When the blossoms fall, they transform into a stunning carpet of soft pink snow that one is reluctant to walk on.

Spring has turned into summer and once again, time for garden parties, BBQ’s, picnics, walks, hikes, Bocci, golf, happy hour along with lunches/dinners as well as theatre and concerts.  What a special time to enjoy time with club members who have become close friends over the years.  Although we host monthly winter events, summer’s warmth and day light entices more members to attend club functions.

One of our members with a lovely home and spectacular back yard and garden hosts a summer garden party with art exhibits and games.  Not only are we treated to a wonderful food fest, a contribution by all attendees but are guaranteed a prize if we can guess the Artist on an art quiz.  The yard is transformed into an art gallery and with pencil and quiz in hand, we enjoy looking at the thirty plus art exhibits and marvel at the technical skill and style of the Artist.  We are talking about paintings by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet and others.  All art displays have been digitally reproduced although to the naked eye, one would wonder if some weren’t originals.

We had thirty-five members attend this absolutely incredible garden party.  As the afternoon worn on and it was time to say goodbye to our host and his helpers, we left reluctantly as the camaraderie was wonderful.   We truly were bedazzled with the garden beauty as well as art displays so it was hard to tear oneself away.

Many of our club members are travellers and there are two trips on tap for 2027.  Join our club to experience great camaraderie, strong and bonding friendships with a variety of planned events throughout the year to satisfy the soul.
