Summer Activities for Singles 55+

Golf Summer Activity

As Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease, the Single Seniors Social Club has restarted some of its fun outdoor activities. All outings respect the requirements of safe physical distancing.

Golf:

Our first summer activity for singles 55+ has already begun and it’s golf! As one of our Club’s most popular outdoor activities, golf provides much needed exercise after months indoors. The laughter and occasional groan (missed putt anyone?) is joyfully shared among friends. Our favourite golf haunts this season for serious golfers are Country Meadows Golf Club and Mylora Golf Club in Richmond. Many in our group, including new golfers, also play regularly at Pitch and Putt courses. For these outings, we choose Ambleside in West Vancouver and Kensington and Central Park in Burnaby.

Picnics:

Our second summer activity for singles 55+ that also includes physical distancing are picnics. Locations for some of our picnics include Foreshore Park in Burnaby, the parkland area adjacent to the Vancouver Museum near Kits Beach, and Cates Park close to Deep Cove. Members and guests bring their own food, beverages, and lawn chairs. They can also participate in scenic walks nearby. Conversation and laughter dominate our picnics, similar to what the SSSC golfers enjoy. Picnics offer an easy outlet to socialize and meet new people. Join us as we venture together and become tourists in our own town.
