The 43,000 plus Cherry trees around Vancouver have shed their blooms and spring is evolving into summer. The Daffodils and Tulips have been replaced by wonderful arrays of Rhododendrons and certainly, the brightest of days are soon upon us, as our daylight hours are the longest starting in June and lasting until September.
As mentioned in the ‘Happy New Year’ blog, we began a new chapter in 2025 with members continuing to embrace all calendar events with house parties, lunch/dinner dining and tri-monthly Checo dancing at the West Vancouver Legion drawing record attendance.
A Valentine’s Luncheon held in the party room of a members condo drew a crowd of 35 members with most members wearing red acknowledging this romantic event.
Our monthly event committees strive to bring about new concepts and events, one being a Movie Tour at MacInnes Farms in the Township of Langley where the TV series “When Calls the Heart” has been filmed for ten plus years. Seventeen members enjoyed a two-hour tour of an active farm environment including the buildings used for the TV series. The day was sunny and bright and we finished the tour at the Farm’s Brewery and as well, enjoyed Bison Burgers at their Kiosk.
Our Club continues to find new venues to be enjoyed with new members hopping on board, eager to meet new friends.
Until next time, have a wonderful summer which is predicted to be warm.
